Maturing as a person and athlete
RE: 1:47.67 HSer Josh Hoey turns pro - Thoughts?
I go both ways on this issue.if he just wants to run and is willing to put all of his eggs in that basket, that's great. College isn't for everyone. But I know how much I enjoyed college, friends, being a part of a school team. But these guys that Oregon recruited were never about team. Hoey didn't even run in the spring to even mention. Oregon recruited two kids that were both trying to go pro. One transferred, the other went pro. I do know that his times are average for college in track and extremely average in xc. Good luck to him. I would prefer my kid experience life with his peers and get a degree, while running fast. You can do all of those at the same time.
