That's what I am saying from the start. Just because you had one good 24 hour race, does not mean anything if you do a multi day race of this magnitude. This is a very long haul, much longer than the Trans US crossings.

Yeah, regardless of how fast either Dave or Al have gone in “shorter distances”, you can’t really prep for something like this the first time they do it. Just got to hope they have the right base to handle the constant fatigue they will have throughout the run.

I’ve seen Dave do ~2:45 marathon as a random training run (ie, not in race setting) and guessing he’d be at least 10minutes faster if he raced one for real.
Although not relavent to this record, when he was a decathlete he said he was usually sub 11seconds for 100m so had some legit speed at one point
