All the fixes and strengthening in the world will not get rid of impact forces but if you remove the intensity for several months and focus solely on aerobic running, trying to get that mileage up to well above 100+ you might see your running taken to another level entirely.
You’re basically a low mileage 2:30 guy. Imagine what you could do with a bigger base. I know you have deep-seated convictions about your training philosophy, though, and that’s never a bad thing to have.
