RE: Road Racing and Training Thread. Week Ending May 13 2018
Coach Jeff: Very solid week indeed! That's funny about the drills. Sounds like we've been working on a similar bad habit, too. In my case, I would describe it as a tendency to hitch my hip around rather than driving it through. Running with a little more pop in the foot really does seem to help - and both the hills and the trails seem to help put some pop in the feet.

TDR: Nice work in the 5k!

Allen: Looks like you've been doing good work, sounds like you're ready for a little recovery. Enjoy the 5k.

Consistency: Sounds like you're bouncing back really well from the marathon. Good sign.

Still Improving: Have a great marathon, and get yahself some lawbstah aftah the race! (Also, if you're coming back down the coast, the Sea Basket in Wiscasset used to have really good diner-style fried fish etc.)

OR and Sub 6: Very strong weeks of training there.

RRR and Smoove: Good to see the recovery continue.

Puto Miudo: Sounds like an awesome race.

JtA: Sounds like it's time to get that leg right. Could it possibly be a shoe issue?

too hot and the Lydiardites: Very much appreciate the discussion (and the link, DB).

R4F: To be honest, I am just experimenting with Canova's approach and trying to figure out what works for me. I suspect that there are others here who have traveled further down that road than I have, such as Epimetheus (I'm guessing) and Stonecutter (if I'm not mistaken). I'll try to put together a few thoughts for you, though.

think about it: Where are you at in NYC?

General K: I've been through that perpetually-getting-back-into-shape thing. Frustrating, but I actually do feel like I'm starting to get out of the rut. Consistency with the basics is the key for me.

To the recently returned: New here myself, it's nice to meet you.
