RE: High School Training/Racing Thread 4/2-4/8
Had a solid week, still slightly under my full mileage just because of the meet.

Monday: 5 miles @7:05

Tuesday: Meet, ran 4x8 and 3200, will talk about the races at the end

Wednesday: 7 miles easy @7:10

1 mile easy
6x800 w/ 400m jog in between (1:55-2:00 rest)
Finish easy to 8 miles
800s in 2:28, 2:27, 2:27, 2:26, 2:27, 2:26

Friday: 5 miles @7:15

1 mile easy
2 sets of:
2x1200 @tempo (5:25-30 mile pace)
4x200 @33
200 rest after 1st 1200 of each set and all 200s, 400 rest after 2nd 1200 of each set

Finish easy to 8 miles

Sunday: 12miles @7:05

Tuesdays races:

4x8: ran 2:07, not going all out. We went through the first 400 in 60 and it felt like nothing, but at the 450 mark the guy I was drafting off almost came to a stop, it was really bizarre. I completely lost concentration and ran the last 300 completely out of it, had I actually kicked with 200-250 left I probably would have ran 2:04-2:05 and had we no come so close to stopping I, who knows what I could have ran...

3200: I was most happy with this run. I soloed 9:45, in some fairlwindy conditions. The next closest guy to me was 10:10 and I dropped them within the first 300. 9:45 is my official 3200 PR, but my 9:01 3k this year indoors converts to 9:40 so a little faster. None the less, I was pumped with a 9:45 and I definitely wasn't even going all out. Opened up the first 200 in 32, settled in at a comfy 4:55-5:00 after that. 69 first 400, 71 last 400 (still not too hard) and the in betweens were around 74-75 per lap. Can't wait to see what I can do in a fast 3200 if a 9:45 feels fairly easy
