You can respect that and call it "guts" if he pulls it off. Otherwise it's the same as running a massive PR in the qualifying rounds of an unimportant conference meet.
Even that is tiers above flying and dying. A PR in the rounds is at least a seed time for later events and some value as a mental benchmark. Flying and dying is, well, nothing.
