I must admit notifications are pretty convenient but addictive. It's ironic as notifications started initially to keep you from having to check your phone. Blackberry started them so wouldn't constantly be looking at your phone for an email.

Now the notifiications suck you into the phone.

I still remember the outrage when facebook announced like 10+ years ago that they'd automatically post your friends updates in your feed. You used to have to go to someone else's page to see what they were doing. People were outraged at the invasion of privacy. Now that's child's play.
