I just threw out the 36 min for 10k as a baseline for fitness. I'm not a fast runner, but if you said I have a goal time for a certain distance, you want to know what your speed is at distances around that mark. I would say that if you can't drop a sub 36 min 10k then there's no way you'll hit a sub 60 10 miler.[/quote]
I totally agree agree with that statement. Some people who can run under 36 for 10K will fail to run sub-60 for 10 miles, but anyone who can't hit that for 10K has no hope of breaking an hour.
