RE: What could I hit in the mile this season?
My english teacher used to run. He did mile pace quarters with equal rest until he. hold the any more. That's probably not the best idea, but on your next workout do some 400s at 69-70, take 70-75s rest and make sure to pace the reps evenly. Hit the 100 splits in 17, 35, 52, 70 (decimals or whatever). Getting your body (and more importantly your brain) used to that pace is super important.
