Yeah I have a feeling this may end with something like "He may have cheated, but the evidence is not completely conclusive. SKINS looks forward to working with Multiple Guinness Record Holder Rob Young to continue to push boundaries and will make sure his endeavors are thoroughly documented going forward".
This report better not suck. Remember, I made this, http://ryinvestigation.blogspot.com, in a couple weeks part-time from my mom's basement (with everyone's help here of course). I were one of these profs I'd be pretty concerned for my reputation if my report couldn't even find some of the smoking guns on that site. Supposedly they had full access to his TomTom data, which I can almost guarantee did not happen though. No way RY hands that over unadulterated.
In honor of all your hard work I think you should ask for an advance copy of the report. You've done more work on this story than the supposed journalists!
I received the report from Ross Tucker via email, here are some excerpts:
"thanks for the email. It’s good to put a name to the website - that website was a really valuable source of information for us, so thank you for your time and energy putting it together. I’d say it may still be the most comprehensive analysis of the Young run, even after ours is published
we used his Tom-tom record..., and so we didn’t actually need to tackle the issue in nearly as much detail as you did. We did manage to verify much of what you did on that site, and there are sections in the report devoted to this, but you should be very proud of your analysis, it was very good.
I am happy to talk further with you about the report after it is published on Sunday. In the meantime, here is the report we did. I’d ask that you not publish any of this and respect the embargo until Sunday. The reason for that, by the way, is that the Skins CEO Jaimie Fuller is flying to Australia as we speak and he wants to be available for comment once it is released, so he requested a slight delay, which we felt was reasonable.
I am inclined to respect the embargo, given the kind words of Mr. Tucker, his willingness to share even though I'm not "media", the fact Jaimie is in the air, etc. etc. I'll be reading through and hope to make a post to http://ryinvestigation.blogspot.com on anything that pops out. Embargo ends 9AM Sunday, Sydney time.
