Old Man Runner
Just read the Runner's World article talking about how Salazar had Rupp doing LESS weights after finishing a disappointing (for him) 5th last year in the WC

"Salazar explains that last summer, after Rupp’s disappointing performance at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, Salazar determined that the runner was carrying too much bulk and muscle in his upper body. “It was restricting his stride,” Salazar says. “He couldn’t achieve full extension. So we basically stopped doing upper-body strength work. Galen has gotten much more fluid, much more flexible.”

“But he hasn’t lost any power,” McHenry is quick to add. “He’s actually attaining more forward thrust with each stride.”"

Welp, guess that didn't work for the 10K. On to next Sunday and the 'thon.

Btw, 5th place in a WC or Olympics is still pretty damn amazing.

To those criticizing Rupp for "ONLY" finishing 5th in the 10,000, please feel free to post your medal position from a prior Olympic Games (not Junior or Special or AAU either) in the 10,000.meters. Oh, wait.
