You need an RV with a custom made cruise control that will hold a speed of around 7 mph. Unfortunately the SKINS RV didn't have this option and the crew thought 9 to 11 mph was close enough. Then, if you don't want to appear an idiot, get out of the RV at regular intervals and walk.
BTW, a closer look at Rob's morning run out of Las Animas. If you have Strava zoom in on the track. It shows Rob running very smoothly on the right side of the road for 5k (in 18:20) before slowing to the zig zagging all over the road walking that laz reported.
