Correct. The thing is, he could be running .1 miles at a time, taking a 30s break, going again, etc. Still too fast, and stupid. But we can't know anything about actual elapsed time over a certain mile or something from this Strava.
As some have mentioned, you could cross-reference to the RV tracker for some more info.
The Strava "best efforts" will be accurate - actual elapsed time for that distance.
I'm still not following why elapsed time is necessary here. Is "maybe he was doing intervals for 30 miles" the argument?
I think it's beyond the feasibility of human physiology that someone running across the country was doing these paces, this often, regardless of how frequently they stopped entirely to rest.
