Stage One: He exaggerated in April 2014 when he posted on mapmyrun and Facebook that he ran 3:19, 3:28, and 4:07 for 26.2 miles in two days time. He exaggerated either the distance or time or both. Maybe he ran 20 miles in 3:19, for example, or 26.2 miles in 4:19 but called it 3:19.
Mr. Young appears to suffer from an athletic inferiority complex. This helps explain why he would sprint fast miles in the presence of Ray and Gary, to demonstrate he was a true great runner. Also why he has such poor pacing in races by starting way too fast, especially that opening 5:23 mile at the Brighton Marathon. Or sprinting off at the beginning of stages in the Race Across America. If true, it would also be characteristic to exaggerate his running times when he started running.
