from his website:
Rob tore himself away from his new friends to get a few hours sleep before we got going again that evening at 8pm. From there he made good mileage through the night as we headed into New Mexico, a night not without drama. With Michael driving and Rob running, they were pulled over twice by a local police officer. He was insistent Rob was risking his life doing what he was doing and threatened to shut him down for the night, which would have been the end of his attempt on the World Record. Fortunately that never happened but it was another occasion where you realise it only takes one thing to go wrong to derail this whole grand attempt.
The following dawn we met up with Vanessa and Shacky further down the road.
8pm to 7am 11 hours for 100+ miles. Hmmm.
Why is he not claiming the American Record for 100 miles. 11:4x would do it, no?[/quote]
He is British so American Record wouldn't count. But the did break the British 100 mile record: 11:30:51+ Don Ritchie 15 August 1977
But he doesn't do this stuff for the fame and glory. He does it for the kids.
