RE: Robert Young fakes run across America
Not sure that is entirely true. Ali and Jonathon Brownlee were only 22 and 24 when they took gold and bronze at the last Olympics. The whole age group thing in triathlon is a bit silly. To go to a champs you basically need to be the equivalent of a poor county standard runner and have the money to pay to get yourself there. I can only imagine the poor standard of competition in the 20-24 group if you need to pay your own way to the champs is down to cost rather than age.

That post certainly places him there and 3rd. Doesn't match with other reports, also contemporary in which he is referred to as winning the world long course age group title. I have to wonder what the actual truth was. Whatever it is I really do want to know where and when that 30:47 10km was done. Being 80 minutes behind the overall winner suggests that the explanation that his 10k dated back to when he was a triathlete is once again not bourne out. Unless the overall winner was superman or Rob basically drowned in the swim I don't see how a guy who rode for Milram and ran a 30:47 would lose so much time.

I am always suspicious of people who always supposedly take it easy when there is a proper event with a decent number of competitors or observers and a set of officials timing it. This sadly seems to be the case in this instance and that worries me greatly.
