RE: Robert Young fakes run across America
To be honest Kev I cannot see how the cycling or triathlon claims are true. Somebody found a result from the long course from 2004 and he was 10th of 15 in his age group. As an age group champs you don't really need to be elite to go. Lets be honest many age group qualifiers are club standard runners at best.

If he's claiming to have ridden for Milram that is also far fetched. They were World Tour level, with 2 riders in Zabel and Pettachi who won monuments. The idea that a british rider would have ridden on that team at that time without having proven himself at world U23 level or having won races at conti or pro conti level consistently is implausible. If you can get him to name his team and years to verify this claim it would be very useful.

I honestly do not believe he ever ran 30:47 for 10k. You have said it was from his younger tri days. But the tri results that are online show Robert Young to be a less than average runner. There is co-incidentally a 30:47 duathlon run leg, but it was only 7k, which seems in keeping with his standard now on PoT.

All this adds up to somebody who likes to exaggerate. That's a problem because a journey run is essentially unprovable if not independently witnessed. Crew don't count. So if we have to take his word and we can't trust his word then the whole endeavor cannot be believed.

That said he can clear it up by giving the years and teams he rode for and the location and year of his 10k PB. I don't know anybody who couldn't do that in either sport.
