never trained with world record holders but with world-class distance runners and what they do is not different to what i do for example in training, same sessions just the 2-3-4secs per lap quicker they are also in races, same exhaustion just faster pace.
Take for example the Komen workout, Gebres workout is far superior to the workout by Komen and he still slower/equal at 1.5-3k-5k, get it?
If the workout is correct, dont you think Gebre would have run something around 3:21 for 1500m?
