I think Curtis Beach was one of THE future guys of our 800 runners, had great speed and barely trained for that event. He split 1:47.xx in HS
Saw him run a great negative split 800 in epic 800 race when Andrews won at HS Nats.
Certainly not many if any could run 10.52 out of blocks
Always thought with his wheels he was a next level 800 guy
Alan Webb? 47.x 400 split to 27:34 has to be the best in U.S. history though
Probably could have run 22.x on a 4 x 2 if he had to. His range is by far the best in U.S. history: 400 relay, 1:43.8x 3:46.x mile 13:10 5K and the 10K
Should have run in there a 2K would have surely had that as well. And that record would have been out of sight when he was fit.
