My conversation with Nick Willis is now complete.
The podcast can be listened to/downloaded here:http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=72655&cmd=tc
Nick is great to talk to. While talking to him for over an hour, he talked about his training for the 5k this year, what keeps him in the game at age 31 (running is the best thing for him to be a stay at home dad), the best way to run the 1500 (negative split he went 153.4 1st 800, 1:50.4 last 800 when he ran 3:29), his role promoting Michigan Track Classic, doping and whom he views as the best 1500 guy on the plaent.
A few highlights if you don't have all day:
Somehwere around the 20 minute mark (18-22) he talked about wanting to find out how fast he could run and how important it was to run 329.
Around the 30 minute mark, he talks about how once you commit as kiwi to going overseas you gotta go all in.
In the last 10 minutes, we talked about Kiprop being despondent after running 3:28, the difference between attitude and ability and doping.
PS. Warning. Unfortunately, we had some interference on the call a few times during the first 40 minutes. We apologize for that.
The best parts of the podcast are the first 25 minutes and last 25 minutes as there were few interference problems.
We thought it was interference from Skype but now believe it was a caller, calling in an not being muted (DIY you are sick individual if you did that on purpose. We hope it was a mistake).
