RE: Mr. Renato Canova: Could You Please Answer a Question About Effective Ways to Improve the Lactate Threshold?
Following that logic i would advise 3hours or 4 hours run.
Look i was comenting a 1500m target goal. I simply take a look and investigate what top class runners do mainly, and as i see that most of the best they don´t do long runs at all. I also did train many runners i i didn´t found a special benefit in doing so. But don´t misunderstand me. If that´s for long distnces, i advise long runs.
I can say the case of Chaiça that did 40km in 2h24m in 2700mts altitude - but that´s for the marathon.
Sincerly what´s deep that long run conclusion for shot middle distance events that´s no more no less than Lydiard training influnce. Because he did that long ago - that´s the main reason why people use that. Now arguments . ther are several mithocondria watever. But a definiteve good sense reason that justifies to do 2 hour long runs for 800m
and 1500m evenst i rally don´t think so.
Trackhead. I know thati lots of you may disagree with me, but my sincere opinion based in my experience is that most of you - special the young ones - if your targhet goal diatnce are 800m/1500m you will take/get more benefits of you take 1 DAY OFF once a week in the weekends than to go for a A LONG ONE that same day !
