yes, the 1 hard-2 easy days method is classic, look at this training for example:

or what Kenny Moore did(by Bowermans advice):1hard day followed by 2 days of easy 20minute runs.
Other method is doing first incomplete supercompensation only one(or no) easy day between workouts and then 2 easy days for finishing the recovery process.
