That's not true. He made a significant improvement. The jump from 3:38 to 3:33 for a non-specialist at the age of 26 is one thing, going from 3:33 to 3:28 at the age of 30 is unprecedented. You're right that the competition hasn't been as great since 2009 in the 10,000, but Farah has made an incredible (in every sense of the word) improvement at the same time.

2003 (age 20) 3:43.17 Eton 14 JUN
2005 (age 22) 3:38.62 Zürich 19 AUG
2006 (age 23) 3:38.02 Rieti 27 AUG
2007 (age 24) 3:46.50 Birmingham, GBR 07 JUL
2008 (age 25) 3:39.66 Birmingham, GBR 13 JUL
2009 (age 26) 3:33.98 Monaco 28 JUL
2012 (age 29) 3:34.66 Los Angeles (OC), CA 18 MAY
2013 (age 30!) 3:28.81 Monaco 19 JUL
No, what I said IS true. I was obviously not talking about the 1500. I was talking about the 5k/10k. The events that he regularly competes in.
The 5k is the most competitive its ever been. Remember in 2012 when 6 people broke 12:50?
