The absurdity of the IAAF's insistence on times strikes again.

So Semenya, who is one of the bigger media figures in all of track and field, can't go to the World Champs an event she won in 2009 even though she's undefeated on the year simply because she didn't run .36 faster in some obscure race????

Absurd.

It says the deadline is tomorrow. If I was Semenya, I'd try again.

He's undefeated because he hasn't raced any strong comp this year till now. Wasn't one of his results a 2:06? Many athletes have just missed qualifying times and they don't get arbitrarily advanced to major competitions. And he's one of the biggest media figures because he's controversial, is that how track needs to be marketed?
