RE: Vin gone from be USATF CEO at end of 2012
one miss at nationals is no commentary on his overall record, which includes many national championships. arguably he's of far more use to usa track and field as coach/general manager at Oregon (and as usa track and field coach), because he builds numerous olympic contenders there and increases interest in the sport in the place where it is most popular. we've heard plenty of promises from new usatf ceo's in the past, none of whom have done anything valuable. logan cost them a lot of money and put the trials in houston, instead of new york. i hope that if vin takes this job, he will at least not specifically cause harm to distance running.
