It's difficult, and perhaps unfair, to try to predict future greatness for any freshman. Yes, Decker was phenomenal at 14 (including beating the previous year's OG silver medalist), and went on to be a world-beater (literally); but there've been plenty of frosh phenoms since then, and only a few have become national class later on. In contrast to boys, who almost all become faster with physical maturity, it's hard to predict how (or how much) a 14-year-old girl will change.

Better, I think, just to give the runner her due *now*--and wish her the best in the remaining races (including today's) in her amazing season.
