You can't rehab an inguinal hernia. You can't rehab a torn tendon. You can't rehab when you don't know what you're rehabbing. I can't believe I and others waste so much time trying to drill that into your head.

As far as your 70 yr old friend not having other pains associated with an inguinal hernia...

The inguinal hernia can cause nerve contact that is painful in different areas (read Mike in VA and ljp). The inguinal hernia also causes the RA to move medially, causing tension at the pubic bone and compensatory action by other muscles. These muscle issues are most likely going to show up in the athlete, not some 70 yr old man. I have an inguinal hernia. I had muscle tears in the RA and adductor. It was diagnoses as sports hernia until I saw a SPECIALIST, who said all was a result of the inguinal hernia.
