Would avoid yoga for now. I used Bikram yoga last summer(hot Yoga- very demanding) and it would be great for maintainence when you get healthy. Yoga is very demanding posturally, so I would think that any weakness might cause other groups to do work they are not accustomed to- then imbalances. In my mind part of the key to rehab is to work toward symmetry between the two sides. The stretcing of calfs and hammys will stave off some atrophy and benefit you down the road when you get back on the run. So your adductors are really tight too? Keep me posted... I enjoy beeing able to exchange info with people...
As for Canadian insurance, it kinda sucks that you can't go and do what you want. Keep investigating and if the condition is AP and will not subside, the quality of life is the issue. If it were me I would go into debt to risk possibly getting healthy. Credit can be effected, but that is temp. and a small price to pay for moving well and having good health.
