This is not a SUBSTANTIAL risk. It happens in less than 1% of the cases. i asked before my surgery. The average Meyers surgery is between 25-40 minutes. Hardly enough time for your bladder to be effected. However it can happen. Just drink plenty of water after surgery and you will be fine.

Also a catheter although uncomfortable on removal is not a big deal.

If someone gave me a chance of 97% success for return to sports and 99% chance of excess bleeding and urinary catheter...why would you care to concentrate on the 3% and 1%'s....

I guess certain people do not realize when the deck is loaded in their favor.
