RE: Anyone ever had a "Sports Hernia" aka: "Sportsman's hernia", "Gilmore's groin
the forum phenomena is a good point. Those whom are repaired successfully or rehab sucessfully spend time posting in forums. Many whom have posted here about having a surgery never come back to post results. Id imagine they must have been positive. Also i think there are a lot of big factors in determining whether surgery is viable. Healing ability is a big factor which has a lot to do with age i assume. The younger you are the better your rehab chances will be. If i were in my 40s or older id have already been to phili. Also the variant of AP is important as well, an adductor centralized injury in hockey is probably more detrimental than in basketball. Severity is obviously important as well. Occupation, family, hobbies(sports etc) are of course other factors. It is nice to know that if rehab fails we do have options. 20 years ago we were SOL. Good luck with your repair hockey player, after your efforts i think your choice is a wise one.
