RE: Anyone ever had a "Sports Hernia" aka: "Sportsman's hernia", "Gilmore's groin
I believe i have this for many years now. I think i even got back surgery for this.

Let me explain. I had tremendous calf pain. Docs found nothing....MRIs EMGS...myleograms...etc....Finally opened me up and took out a minisucle cyst.....After surgery calf still hurt...Also noticed over the years i had gone to docs for testicle and low ab pain but they found nothing. SO i did nothing for a year except pool work....And i healed for 18 years..no calf or back pain....Intermittenly i would get the testicle and low ab pain and thinking it was a hernia...

Fast forward to 4 years ago when i was bent over throwing 50-90 pound logs from right to left. While doing it right foot sticks in mud and i feel a pop in groing and sacrum.....Sacrum hurts bad with calf burn.....and groin pain....Docs do MRI's....say back sprain but everthing looks normal and full strength....Send me to PT and they have me doing pilates and groin and stomach are killing me but they say it is SI related (BS)....

More chiro...PT.....moments of pain free but always comes back.....

Now my legs are so tight to the touch they feel like concrete...Being a jock i decide to fight the pain and workout like a madman...Walk 6 miles per day and now my leg has hypertrophy.....Also weightlift which kills my leg and groin and testicle...(especially tricep pulldowns, lat pulldowns, squats because my crotch (pectineus) is jammed and will not let me open my legs all the way, and ab machine is a killer....

Yet, no doc can give me an answer so i fight it. Now it is so bad i can not work....I am in constant pain but no answers....Now a chiro says it is my psoas...SO a NMT works on my psoas and back and i feel better......but for a day at a time.....But all the stretches kill my groin and testicle....

So i finally go to a muscle specialist and pain specialist in NYC who invented a device that tests all muscles...the device is electrical....It says my back is 100% and when he puts the device in my groin in nearly cry and jump off the table....NExt step he slaps lidocaine cream on it and pain goes away....Next day he injects the adductor magnus and my calf tightness resolves.....following day he injects my pectineus (which i thought was a bone because it was so hard)...and now i can open my leg and my foot can be flat on the ground instead of rolled.

He says, "you have a groin problem" not a back problem...

I feel good for a few days and then i raked and it set my crotch off something fierce....and when my crotch gets set off my magnus tightens and then my calf...chain reaction...

I also can feel a tightness in my outer calf when i lay on my side with my legs stacked on each other.

Or if i carry somehting on 1 side i feel my groin and then my magnus inflame ASAP...

The doctor gave me excercises which while strenghtening many muscles hurt like hell on my low ab, testicle and groin....

I can not do a situp without agony...I can not squeeze legs together.....and it kills to roll over in bed....it hurts to sit for long....hurts stomach....

So i am seeing meyers and am excited as hell because i am quite sure i have it and bad......

Up until October my body was bracing/spasming to protect me. Now that my adductors where loosened with the injections i feel the groin pain much more intensely...

The only thing i can do at the gym is recumbent cycle...It hurts but the least.....

I can not cut....I can not run in water...because when i did and my foot slipped...i was done....

I am just so shocked at the medical community that nobody took my groin pain seriously....They all looked lumbar...

After the shots my back pain left.....I really believe when that rectous abdominis is injured it torques your pelvis forward and if you combine that with adductor tears that is the 1 whole side of your body that is being torqued constantly and can not fight alone so it calls in other muscles that are not designed for this.

I will post after i see Meyers...
