RE: Anyone ever had a "Sports Hernia" aka: "Sportsman's hernia", "Gilmore's groin
Is a tear to rectous abdomonous a part of SH business too??? I see we start to fall into the “all groin pain = sh” trap…

I am not a doc but from my experience/research on the net most tears to muscles will heal with proper care. I am suspecting/hoping to have torn abdominal muscle – will find out next week – hopefully!

As it comes to lower back pain… there is that referred pain theory but I think it is utter crap when it comes to sports people. My PT treated me for referred back/groin pain (which comes first???) for 2 months and NOTHING! I see so called “referred pains” on corresponding muscles as the result of your (at times unconscious) adjustments to the way your body moves to reduce the pressure on painful muscles.

I had groin pain for a couple of months and then the pain spread to my lower back. My back muscles are still stiff (after 2 months of treatments) as they copped over 6 months of extra pressure…

If I were you I would definitely check whether you have torn muscles – and if yes have them healed 100% and at the same time get some chiro (PTs suck!) to work on you back….
Good luck!
