HOMER REPAIRED: After months of playing through pain, Wings forward Tomas Holmstrom went under the knife Wednesday for a sports hernia. He had surgery in Philadelphia and should be recovered by September, when the Wings gather in Traverse City.
"Our doctors tell me six to eight weeks," general manager Ken Holland said, "so he should be fine by training camp."
It's the same surgery forward Kris Draper had last summer.
