I also had quite a bit of swelling at the incision sites, particularly when I overdid it. I found that gently massaging the areas above and below the incision seemed to help, but maybe the swelling would have gone down anyway. It had come and gone several times, flaring up whenever I do a bit too much.
I'm now at about 5 1/2 weeks and taking the rehab slowly. so I'm only up to 1 1/2 mile run, with another half and quarter mile a bit faster interspersed with walking for a total of about 3 1/2 miles every morning. However, I am also doing quite a bit of other walking and light work around my place. Still pain and discomfort but nothing major. I'm sure I could run further at this point, but am also dealing with lots of muscle soreness because I was off for a year!
Anyone out there know much about massaging the wound area? I've been doing it more and more agressively, but don't really remmeber much of what Trish told me.
