RE: Anyone ever had a "Sports Hernia" aka: "Sportsman's hernia", "Gilmore's groin
Den,

Meyers is a good place to start...one reason I wasn't healing was the premise that I had a labral tear...an ultrasound confirmed "something" but not enough to consider surgery...I talked to Marcia at Meyers' office and she said they have a great referral list of hip docs if need be.

A hip impingement could definitely play a part in your pain...I am not sure that a hip issue can be caused by a sports hernia. Johnny, do you have thoughts on this? I haven't read anything that suggests a rectus or transversus tear could influence the hip labrum to tear unless you are completely out of balance and have been exercising like that for a long time. The root cause may in fact be your alignment...or the fact that it's been overused. From what I hear, that surgery is MUCH more painful that a sh surgery, with a longer recovery time. This is where I would considered PRP, or plasma rich platelet injections...http://www.plateletrichplasma.blogspot.com/
