Every good book about running methodology and running physiology says that a run of 3k to 10K pace that is aerobic mostly. the more repetitons a 3k-10k pace.
From that knowledge of the modern physiology the use of repetitions or interval workouts that´s good method to prmote the increase of the aerobic capacity on every block of training. That workouts can´t damage your aerobic condition if done with parcimony. Otherwise that workouts can be very effective in the improve of your aerobic condition if you combine it with daily aerobic runs and mileage.
Lydiardism based in Lydiard method they still insist that repetitions at 3k to 10k pace with enough recover that´s anaerobic and not save to do that during the marathon/aerobic block.[/quote]
