I don't think a 5:29 last mile is dying at all. Dying would've been a 6:00 last mile. And guess what? SHE STILL WOULD'VE WON BY TEN SECONDS.

As for giving her credit for the 3200 record being "a disservice to the entire sport," I agree with you in a certain sense, but there has to be an exception here. She ran 16:22 on a moderate course with no competition. She probably could've rested for a week and gone under 10 no problem.
