But seriously, it's wrong. Phiddy ran something like 140k the day before his lethal marathon.
Anyway, back on topic, a friend of mine who ran with Bernard Lagat at WSU said that he never trained more than 35mpw even for xc. I doubt that there were any 20 milers in there.
I have no idea what his training has been like since leaving WSU 8 or so years ago.
