Would it be that unusual for a woman to drop from 4:41 to the lower 4:30s. When entered in the male rales, her equivalent performance in a female race would be 4:41 (not 4:45). Sure if she runs 4:30 flat, that would be a big improvement. But if she drops down to say a 4:34, I think that would be within the range of normal improvement for an NCAA runner of a good year.
