Sad for Caster but good overall for women's running.
Does this mean Caster can run the 1500 this year?
"While the IAAF rule applies to the 400-, 800-, and 1,500-meter events — Semenya’s primary races — the CAS judges say the IAAF should not yet apply the rules to the 1,500."
I feel bad for Caster. Objectively, she has taken a lot of flack over the years. It feels like the track/running world has talked about what may or may not be below the skin for a decade or so. By all accounts she’s a good woman who wants to run fast. And drugging her and others to make it more equitable for other runners just doesn’t sit right. But CAS made the right decision, as bad as it feels. I believe this ruling does the “least harm.”
