I think the main reason people get divorced so often is that there is a misunderstanding of what marriage is supposed to be. A successful marriage isn’t two people living in the infatuous stage forever. If that were the case, you wouldn’t need vows. A good marriage happens when you commit to someone despite the fact that you are tempted by others, fight with each other, etc. If you aren’t prepared to deal with that, then don’t take the vows. People think that when someone else catches their eye, or they get bored, or what have you, that their marriage is a failure, and so they split. But that will happen with everyone eventually.
