Does Chicago still deserve to be a World Marathon Major?

quality > quantity

I think the whole "World Major Marathon" thing is a dump experiment. It is not like Tennis/Golf where the best compete in all events because they are majors.

Let the free market dictate which events are important to the elites. And besides the fake elites that pretend to be experts on LTC, most of the marathon running world really couldn't care less which elites are running in which race. Or how fast. The major marathons would sell out every year even if no elites showed up.

Simply put. Hobby Joggers dictate which marathon is a major! Sorry. But it's true.

Rock n roll, Disney, and Honolulu are not major marathons despite their size.
