I wonder if he cost himself another medal by just staying with the pack. Rupp seems very strong right now, but not as fast as 2012. If he would've taken the lead with 5 or 6 laps to go and pushed the pace he might've been able to get away from at least two of those who finished ahead of him. Farah still most likely wins and Tanui kicked well (though not unbelievably so), but the two Ethiopians were barely ahead of Rupp and I think he could've had them if he had pushed a little earlier.
