This is the problem with getting older as a runner. Guys don't all of the sudden lose their desire to lace up and toe the line, so you'll see an Alan Webb type show up in the results of races from time to time. But people will always hold runners to the standards of their prime, which obviously is a very short window.
I think it's always cool when guys who have tasted the very top continue to compete as they get older and inevitably slower. It shows they love what they do and that they're not restricted by their egos.
