I saw the thread that was started about Ok. State's 6 x 1 mile workout and thought I'd try to get some discussion going about the workout Olympic 1,500 champion, Rashid Ramzi, describes in his Brief Chat on Runnersworld.com today or yesterday.
When asked what he thinks a tough workout is, he says 8 x 1k @ 2:29- 2:31 with 90 Seconds Rest.
So basically it's 8 x 1k at your 3k race pace with 90 seconds rest. Maybe a little more for most guys as it would take you longer to do.
What do you think? It's an awful lot of work. I certainly don't think I'd have my guys do that many.
The interview is worth reading as he also talks about going after the world record in 2009.
