Were there really people who believed this nonsense. Explain how that is possible.
It's possible, because the GOP has become a group of absolute morons. It is their idiocy that drives them, but GOP members currently, in addition to being morons,:
1) Believe in conspiracy theories...any and all conspiracy theories as long as Democrats are evil. I mean, seriously, the Qanon stuff is just batsh!t crazy. There were a LOT of them who thought that JKF and JFK Jr. were going to come back to be the President and Vice President. Beyond the fact that both of them are dead beyond a shadow of a doubt and were liberal Democrats, so why would they comeback to lead an off-the-rails Republican Party, did they ever consider how OLD JFK would be today? If he were still alive, he'd be 105 years old!
2) Believe they are all victims, and with victimhood comes not only blaming others for their lot in life but also buying 100% what they are told as long as THEY get to be innocent victims of someone else's evilness. OF COURSE many of these morons believe that Sandy Hook was staged. They don't want anyone or any real event to stand in the way of any kind of gun control whatsoever.
3) Believe that the 2020 election was stolen by Democrats. Absolute insanity. They believe that because Donald Trump (perhaps the biggest liar in the history of the world) told them it was with NO PROOF whatsoever. White House lawyers, Bill Barr, Republican officials from all corners of the country told him the election was valid and that he lost. BUT, he wouldn't have any of it, so he got nutbars Sidney Powell, John Eastman, and Rudy Giuliani to spew this nonsense with again NO PROOF. Those three should be sent to prison and sued by Dominion and any other entity that was harmed by them until they have absolutely nothing. There are posters here who still believe the election was stolen. Batsh!t crazy.
So yes, tons of people believe that fool...they buy stuff he sells, they support his stupid show, they've made him a multi-millionaire (between $135-$270 million dollars).
Used to be a time when the GOP just had different policy views, but the still believed in following the law, at least trying to be a decent person, and they believed in the US Constitution. Now, they are all a bunch of window-licking morons who want an autocrat to lead our nation. F*cking morons.
