Nash has the best 400/800 speed but I doubt he can compete with Heidesch and Washburn in XC this year. Between those two, I would love to see someone run sub-15 at the State Meet. Several guys have run 15:0x, but I’m pretty sure the first sub-15 has been elusive. These two have the talent to do it if they’re healthy and conditions are conducive.
Heidesch has had some injury problems, and Washburn’s improvement curve is impressive—including running 8:59 at Drake (2:04.0 final 800) and winning State in the 3200. It would seem to me that Washburn is the best 10k prospect, Nash with his 49.x open 400 speed as a junior is most likely to be a stud collegiate 800 runner, and Heidesch might have the greatest overall upside and the most likely to become a sub-4 miler.
