This response seems a bit triggered...
That being said, everyone response to grief in a different way. I think most can agree that Devon's ability to compete well at the highest level in spite of his father's recent passing would not be typical.
I don't think it's fair to compare how SR and DA coped with the loss of a parent prior to a big race anymore than it would be fair to compare how much two people cried over the same person's death.
People already can feel guilty for being too affected and by not being affected enough by someone's death. Passing judgement on how other's grieve isn't fair. What purpose does passing such judgement serve anyway?
