Heart palpitations while running

I get palpitations every now and then and know they're likely harmless, but they still freak me tf out. For example, during a run the other day my heart seemingly out of nowhere started fluttering, like 250 bpm but very weak beats. The bout only lasted ~30 seconds but it was very unsettling. I also feel like my heart skips beats every now and again, but I can't figure out any pattern that's causing these palpitations. Any else experience this?

I had double beats some time back randomly, wherein my chest strap as well as my second watch reported roughly half the HR of what I could measure with fingers (because I could separately manually count the quick succession beats as two beats).

I talked to my cardiologist and I’m in the process of acquiring a holter monitor that I’m supposed to wear for two weeks (not just a day as is more common), so it will capture all HR patterns with medical grade accuracy across all workouts and everyday life.

That said, if you are physically not feeling ill, aperiodicity in beats is not uncommon and rarely a problem (modulo age and preexisting heart conditions), so talk to your heart doctor but don’t worry yet.
