I ran a 2:30 marathon by running only 45 miles a week. How fast can I go if I continue to dial in my training?

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I'm 35 now so time isn't on my side! But I was inspired by Abdi Abdirahman run at the OTQ marathon.

I'm planning on getting the mileage up to 100+ for a couple weeks in my build to Houston, but we'll see how my body can handle it... I don't wan to sacrifice quality for volume. And I can get in some endurance rides in on the bike.

Yeah, the Mesa marathon had about 1000ft of elevation loss so it was definitely a quick course. I ran a 1:08 in the half at AFC and that course has a downhill at the start but a good climb at the finish so I think it almost balances out. That was my last race.

I'd be really happy with a 2:15! We'll see how my body holds up! Thanks!

Damn dude, 1:08:43 half is better even than your 2:30 marathon, and yeah, that climb at the end looks brutal. You for sure should attempt to qualify for the Olympic Trials. As I mentioned earlier, the California International Marathon is a popular one to try to get that qualifying time.

I hope you keep posting your progress here. This is very interesting.

Good luck!
